Author Biography:

Liz Gilbey grew up in Leicestershire but now lives in Yorkshire. She started her career as a journalist on a weekly agricultural newspaper where it was often necessary to wear wellies to work! Later, as a working mother, Gilbey moved into freelance writing, interviewing stars and reviewing theatrical productions across the country. Now, after many years of rushing hundreds of miles across country on winter evenings to meet deadlines, she crosses the house to her desk, and usually works with a dog sitting on her feet. The Water is Wide is her first novel.
